I saved a list of all installed applications

in order not to forget what I used last week :) ..and here are the favourite ones:

Domain Specific Languages in Ruby

It is probably every developer’s dream to create a programming language. It is a complex and difficult task, so it will remain just an unfulfilled dream for many.
But there is a chance to create something simpler - a domain specific language (DSL). A language, that covers a specific (and limited) domain.
Ruby helps here a lot [...]

Undelete iPod Mini Files

A friend of mine asked me to help him to undelete music files from his iPod mini.

The iPod mini had the FAT32 file system.
I downloaded the TestDisk application. The package contains the PhotoRec application too.
Firstly I tried to use the TestDisk application (reads data from the filesystem), but it was able to undelete only a [...]

Accessing Mac OS X harddrive from Ubuntu in VirtualBox via shared folders

I installed Ubuntu in a VirtualBox machine on OS X (pretty easy and straightforward), but to access a Mac harddrive from Ubuntu was slightly more complicated.

I. Install Guest Additions
Firstly, it is necessary to install the VirtualBox’s Guest Additions to the host system:

Choose in the VitualBox’s menu: Devices -> Install Guest Additions…
It mounts a new ISO [...]

JSSh (Firefox 3.0) with Optional Port Number

One of the ways how to remotely control Firefox is to use the JSSh (JavaScript Shell) plug-in.
